Corte Moschina farms in Roncà, in the eastern hills of Veneto, where ancient volcanic activity left behind basalt-rich soils that give the estate's Soave its unmistakable flinty, savoury edge. The family have been viticoltori in Roncà for generations, and the name on every label is a statement of place rather than a brand.

The estate works organically, with trellised vines, low yields and a preference for slow, even ripening. Alongside the volcanic Roncà parcels, Corte Moschina farms limestone-rich sites in the Colli Berici, where excellent drainage and a wide day-to-night temperature swing build elegance, fine structure and clear mineral character.

In the cellar the wines are handled quietly: cool, patient fermentations for the whites and gentle skin contact for the reds. The result is a range — Roncathe Soave, Granetto Pinot Grigio and Calcàreo Carménère — that tastes precisely of the soils it comes from.
